Ironbridge Power Station is in the run-down to closure, which is likely to happen between 2013 and 2015. Sue Falder is organising a trip to have a look round it, and if any members or friends are interested in joining this, they would be very welcome.
It’s on Wednesday August 24th at 5.00 pm and will consist of a short talk followed by a hard-hat tour round the facilities including the cooling towers, turbine hall and control room – lasting around two hours in all.
Those who wish can then repair to the Valley Hotel or one of Ironbridge’s many eating places for a meal.
